Balance It Inc. holds official opening and tour

Balance It Inc., a company specializing in customized feeds for livestock, invited Islanders into its new plant in Ebenezer today for an official opening and tour. Although the company has been offering its expertise in the field of livestock nutrition to farmers on Prince Edward Island since 1995, it recently built the 4500 square-foot facility and acquired new high tech equipment to expand its manufacturing base.

Along with offering personal services to help Island farmers evaluate and improve their feeding programs, Balance It Inc. now mixes and sells a variety of special types of livestock feeds to meet the needs of individual farmers. New products include a five-tiered baby pig feeding program. The program is designed to prevent weight loss in weaned pigs by introducing them to a milk base type of starter feed, which would allow for a smoother transition from the sow's milk to dry feed.
