Preventive Nutrition Heart Advance Product Supplement

Cargill Health & Food Technologies (H&FT) announces that its CoroWise brand of plant sterols are featured in GNC's new Preventive Nutrition Heart Advance dietary supplement.

Heart Advance is a new convenient, multi-action supplement designed to support heart health. The use of CoroWise plant sterols enables the brand to carry the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's approved heart health claim on its label.

The label says: CoroWise plant sterols, when part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may help reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels. Plant sterols have been used for 50+ years and scores of human studies have shown no adverse effects.

Preventive Nutrition Heart Advance is a key part of an exclusive heart health program designed to make it easier for consumers to follow a healthier lifestyle, said Steve Nelson, marketing vice president, GNC. Purchasers of this product can access a free on-line health planner, a tool through which they can track their daily intake of sodium, cholesterol and more, log daily blood pressure readings, get heart smart tips, and learn more about heart care, diet and exercise, Nelson explained.

Heart Advance is yet another example of how Cargill H&FT works side by side with our customers to meet consumer needs. Heart disease remains one of this country's top health concern and we are proud that GNC has chosen to include CoroWise plant sterols to this exciting new product , said Steve Snyder, vice president of sales and marketing, Cargill HF&T. We look forward to continued collaboration with GNC on other novel, science-based supplement products.
